Musketeers (Ages 6-8) & Youth Champions (Ages 9-12)

About
Our developmental Musketeers (Ages 6-9) and Youth Champions (Ages 9-12) programs are designed for beginner to advanced students, focusing on building strong fundamentals, love for the sport, and long-term success in fencing. These programs are ideal for students in their first 1–3 years before advancing to our Competitive Track (starting as early as age 9).

Any student who has completed a trial lesson or a week of camp is eligible to join our Bronze, Silver, or Gold Youth Programs. We maintain small class sizes with a 6:1 or 8:1 student-to-coach ratio to ensure quality instruction and individual attention. New students are welcomed year-round, and our class pick-up lessons help ease the transition by allowing students to work with a variety of coaches and get to know our team.

Where Are Classes Offered?
Our programs are available at the following locations:

• Upper West Side: 91st & Broadway

• Manhattan West: 104th & Broadway

• Midtown East: 49th Street between 2nd & 3rd Avenues

• Westchester: Port Chester location

Saber is offered at all locations.
Foil is available exclusively at our Westchester (Port Chester) location.

Schedule:
Our Youth classes are generally held at these times at all our locations.

• Weekdays: 4:30–6:00 PM (Pre-class activities begin at 3:50 PM)

• Weekends: 10:30 AM–12:00 PM (Pre-class activities begin at 9:00 AM)

Program Options
We offer three levels of Youth and Musketeers programs:

• Bronze Youth – Includes 1 class and 1 class pick-up lesson per week

• Silver Youth– Includes 2 classes and 2 class pick-up lessons per week

• Gold Youth – Offers unlimited classes and students purchase our traditional Member Private Lessons separately in packs of 10, 30 or 50 and schedule with a specific coach a weekly recurring basis.

Payment Structures
These programs can be purchased on a monthly, trimester (3-months) or annual basis with prices starting at $499/monthly for our Bronze Youth program.

What are Class Pick-Up Lessons? (Only Available in the Bronze & Silver Programs)
A new offering at Tim Morehouse Fencing Club for the 2025-2026 season, class pick-up lessons are included in the Bronze and Silver program pricing. These short-format lessons take place either before or during the first 40 minutes of class and may be 10-minute private sessions or 20–30-minute small group sessions. They are led by the class staff under the guidance of the program lead and require no additional scheduling.

Gold Program Private Lessons
Private lessons are not included in the Gold Program pricing and are purchased separately. These lessons are the Traditional Member Private Lessons that Tim Morehouse Fencing Club has offered which in most cases are 20-minutes, one-on-one lessons scheduled weekly with a designated coach.

The Gold Youth Program is designed for students who are preparing to compete or have just begun competing. One weekly private lesson is required, though 2–3 lessons per week is recommended for students pursuing higher-level competition and goals.

What Are Pre-Class Activities? included in the musketeers and youth program are activities that occur before class that focus on balance, coordination, strength and skill development in addition to the time needed for students to gear up for class. The class pick-up lessons also occur during this time.

Requirements:
Both lessons and classes are required in all our programs.

Fencing Equipment:
All students participating in group classes require equipment. The group class equipment set is $450 and includes mask, glove, jacket, chest protector, underarm protector, saber and cords. Students borrow their electric jackets from the club.

Competitions:
We also encourage students to participate in our 6–7 in-house tournaments held throughout the year to gain experience, build confidence and for both you and your child to start to learn about how competitions work in the sport of fencing.

Payment Information
Payment is not collected within the enrollment form. However, please note that classes and lessons will not be scheduled until payment is received.

After submitting the form:

• For monthly programs, you may complete payment online.

• If paying by check, please bring it to the club location where you are enrolling.
