More Than A Program

Elite enrollment is a complete development system — world-class coaching, structured training volume, national competition access, and a recruiting pathway built over years.

Olympian Coaching

Direct access to 8+ Olympians including Tim Morehouse, Eli Dershwitz, Slava Grigoriev, Ziad Elsissy, and Mamadou Keita — plus a deep elite coaching staff.

High-Volume Group Training

4–5 structured elite group sessions per week with specialized saber, foil, and épée coaches — the rhythm national-level development requires.

Private Lesson Program

3+ weekly one-on-one lessons with your primary coach — plus small-group training. Nationally competitive fencers add a 4th lesson for peak performance.

Elite Training Camps

Winter Camp (Dec 26–30), Pre-National Camp (mid-June), Pre-Season Summer Camps (July/August), and the Harvard Coaches & Olympians Sleep-Away Camp.

Tournament Strip Coaching

Coached at NACs, Junior Olympics, Summer Nationals, regional circuits, and international events — athletes compete at Cadet, Junior, and Senior World Championships.

College Recruiting Pathway

Program Expectations

The Commitment

Elite development is a long-term pursuit. Our athletes commit to a high-performance training schedule, a national and international competition calendar, and a culture of excellence — on and off the strip.

Weekly Training Volume

4–5

Elite Group Sessions

Structured weekly training with specialized saber, foil, or épée coaches — the rhythm national-level development requires.

Private Lessons

Recurring one-on-one with your primary coach, plus 1 small-group training session per week. Nationally competitive fencers often add a 4th.

Regular

Active Competition

Competing at regional circuits, national events (NACs, JOs, Summer Nationals), and international tournaments.

Elite Camps

Participation in elite camps is a critical part of the program.

Tournament Coaching

Strip coaching is a required part of the program. For designated tournaments where TMFC provides coaching, athletes are responsible for applicable coaching and travel fees.

Our coaching staff travels to NACs, Junior Olympics, Summer Nationals, and select international events to support athletes on the strip when it matters most.

How We Show Up

Enjoying the process through the ups and downs, committing to hard work, supporting one another as a club, and upholding championship values including good sportsmanship and integrity.

Athletes train within a team-based environment, working with multiple coaches, giving back to a community that gives, and leading by example for the next generation.

  • The Elite Program is open to dedicated athletes who have progressed through TMFC’s youth or teen programs and are ready for a higher level of competition. Admission is based on coach evaluation.

  • Elite fencers typically train 4–5 days per week and take a minimum of 2 private lessons weekly. Nationally competitive fencers often add a third or fourth lesson for peak performance.

  • TMFC athletes compete in club tournaments, regional events, and national championships, with many representing Team USA and other nations at the Cadet, Junior, and Senior World Championships.

  • Each weapon group trains separately under specialized coaches. All programs follow TMFC’s competitive curriculum, with technical, tactical, and physical training tailored to the weapon.

  • Yes. TMFC offers elite fencing camps and our Harvard coaches and Olympian camp to help athletes prepare for the national season.

  • Communication between coaches, parents, and athletes is essential. TMFC provides guidance on competition schedules, training goals, and progress throughout the season.
