Tim Morehouse Fencing Club integrates sports psychology into its holistic athlete development approach through an exclusive partnership with Dr. Michelle Chung and her team. Doctor Chung is a renowned clinical psychologist specializing in performance and sports psychology and her team.
Through workshops, one-on-one consultations, and group sessions designed to support our entire community, we aim to cultivate exceptional sports performance in our athletes while equipping them with lifelong skills. Our mission is to develop college-ready athletes and life-ready adults who are well-rounded individuals prepared to thrive both on and off the fencing strip.

Dr. Chung’s expertise, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), will anchor a series of 3-4 seminars focused on sports psychology and fencing. These sessions are designed to benefit TMFC students, parents, and coaches, supporting the club’s mission of developing well-rounded, high-performing athletes.

The kick-off seminar will take place on Monday, December 30, at our Port Chester location and is exclusively available to TMFC members and Winter Camp attendees. The seminar fee is $50, and registration should be completed through your child’s MindBody account. Each registration allows two participants to attend, making the session ideal for both athletes and their parents. The content will be tailored to benefit both students and their families.

This collaboration is designed to provide TMFC athletes, parents, and staff with the tools to excel both on and off the fencing strip. By integrating cutting-edge mental performance strategies into our training programs, this partnership enhances the holistic development of our students as athletes and individuals.
Dr. Chung brings her expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness techniques to the TMFC community. She works closely with TMFC founder Tim Morehouse and coaching staff to develop tailored strategies for managing stress, enhancing focus, and understanding flow states to optimize athletic performance.

Dr. Michelle Chung: A Leader in Sports Psychology and Mental Performance
Dr. Chung is a clinical psychologist with a specialization in sports and performance psychology, dedicated to helping individuals achieve excellence and balance in high-pressure environments. With extensive training and professional experience, she integrates evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), into her work with athletes, teams, parents, and coaches.
Dr. Chung has published research on child and developmental trauma and has delivered presentations to Olympic-level athletes and teams. Her expertise extends to managing anxiety, stress, ADHD, and other challenges that impact performance and well-being. In addition to her private practice and speaking engagements, Dr. Chung is the founder of The Modern Asian Parent, where she supports parents in navigating the complexities of child development.
Her education includes a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University, a Master of Science in Applied Psychology, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Carnegie Mellon University, where she graduated cum laude.
