School Holiday Camp Day (Overview)

Welcome!
Each camp day kicks off with a warm welcome from our friendly staff, followed by students getting sized and fitted for their fencing gear. Once everyone is suited up, we jump right into a fun and energetic warm-up designed to get the kids moving and excited for the day ahead.

Warm Up and Team Buildling
After the warm-up, it's time to dive into fencing fundamentals. Our coaches lead engaging footwork drills and teach key fencing moves in a fun, collaborative way, using our youth development model. We tailor activities and games to be age-appropriate and skill-level friendly, ensuring that every child is learning and improving at their own pace.

Fencing Games
Before lunch, we finish the morning with a fencing-themed game, building excitement and teamwork. After a lunch break, it's back to action with more drills, skill-building activities, and friendly practice bouts where the students get to apply what they've learned by fencing with each other.

Lunch
At TMFC, students enjoy a supervised lunch break where they can relax and refuel for the afternoon's activities. We ask that all students bring their own lunch, as meals are not provided. For those who finish eating early, we offer fun options like chess and other games to keep them entertained until the next part of camp begins. This ensures that all students stay engaged, make new friends, and have a great time throughout the entire day!

Post Lunch Warm Up Game
After lunch, we jump back into action with a post-lunch warm-up game, often incorporating our exciting virtual training system or other fun activities to re-energize the students and get them moving. This keeps the energy high as we transition into the afternoon session.

SUIT UP and Get Ready for the Tournament!
Following the warm-up, it's time for the students to suit up and begin honing the key fencing moves they’ll use in the end-of-day tournament. Our coaches focus on sharpening their attacking moves, as well as defensive techniques like parry, riposte, hitting in preparation, and reprise. Each student has the opportunity to practice these skills, preparing them for the competition and boosting their confidence as they prepare to step onto the strip for the tournament!

END OF DAY TOURNAMENT (Parent’s Welcome)
The highlight of the day is our end-of-camp tournament! All students get the chance to put their new skills to the test, and we invite parents to join us for the last 90 minutes to watch the tournament and cheer on the competitors. The day concludes with a medal ceremony to celebrate each student's progress and achievements— a perfect way to wrap up a fun and rewarding day at TMFC!

Medal Ceremony!
The day concludes with an exciting medal ceremony where all the students are celebrated for their hard work and achievements. It's a special moment for the kids to be recognized for their effort and progress throughout the day, and it’s a fun way to wrap up the camp. Whether they’re new to fencing or seasoned competitors, every student leaves feeling proud of what they’ve accomplished, with a medal in hand and memories of a fantastic day at Tim Morehouse Fencing Club.
