Tim Morehouse Fencing Club Is Ready To Face The Challenges and Provide Your Child with a Great Summer!
The Summer of 2020 will be unlike any summer we’ve seen before with incredible uncertainty as we continue to deal with the COVID-19 crisis.
I want to thank everyone for their support during this difficult time especially those still fencing with us! I want to thank our coaches as well for their dedicated work as we've adjusted to what life has thrown at us!
It is realistic to say that the “typical” summer experience isn’t going to be a reality this summer, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a great and productive summer. At Tim Morehouse Fencing Club, we are dedicated to making that happen.
There are a lot of unknowns so we've got a flexible plan: With stay-at-home orders, social distancing and other restrictions still likely to be in effect in some capacity this summer, many camps may not be able to hold in-person sessions at all, or more likely in-person sessions may have group size limits. Health and safety rules for what is allowed may ease and/or tighten throughout the summer!
That is why this summer we will be offering Camps online camps and clinics all summer plus in-person training when allowable.
For Youth Beginner and experienced fencers ages 7-11, we will be offering Online Fencing Camps that will provide campers with both fencing instruction and other educational and cross-curricular experiences. Camps will begin Monday, June 15, and run 9:30am-12:30pm Monday-Friday. If allowable, we will bring students to the club in-person but we are only guaranteeing that we will run an awesome online program every week with our staff also prepared to see kids in-person if possible.
Competitive Fencer Program: For our older fencers in foil, saber and epee we will be conducting “Elite Training and College Prep Clinics” starting Monday, June 15, from 4pm-7pm Monday-Friday plus in-person bouting as a bonus when possible.
In-Person Bouting: (BONUS TRAINING) For our competitive fencers who have signed up for our clinics, when health regulations allow, we will bring small groups to the club for bouting sessions. The club will organize these groups based on what health regulations allow at the time.
The Approach We Recommend: Expect everything to be online this summer but be ready for in-person lessons or small-group training sessions if health and safety conditions allow.
Flexibility is going to be a necessity for camps and campers this summer. On a week-by-week basis, we will adjust programming to the current health guidelines. This means we will have coaches running online camps every day of the week, with the option for kids to come in-person and train hands-on with coaches if possible and under the strictest possible safety conditions.
Exchanges: we know some of you had previously registered for our sleep away camp and we will exchange your registration fees for our new modified summer program. Please contact info@timmorehousefencing.com to discuss.
To Keep Things Interesting For Extended Time Online We Will Be Taking The Following Steps:
Guest Olympians will be visiting online sessions every week along with a variety of guest instructors.
For our Youth Fencers, we will be providing enrichment and educational activities in addition to fencing.
For our older fencers, in addition to fencing sessions,we will have college essay writing sessions, SAT tutoring, college interview preparation sessions, virtual campus tours led by college coaches and students, and more!
RATES:

We know this situation isn’t what anyone wanted but we can promise you that our dedicated staff will offer a creative, engaging and fun summer for your child no matter what the months ahead hold.
