TMFC Foil, Saber Fencers Put on a Good Show At Neil Lazar RYC/RJCC

New Haven, CT (Oct 2-3, 2021) — Tim Morehouse Fencing Club foil and saber fencers offered up some great early season fencing.

The second weekend of the Neil Lazar tournament at the Floyd Little Field House in New Haven was well attended by the younger fencers competing in men’s and women’s events from Y-10 to Junior.

There were 21 medal-winners in all. Zihou Dai won silver in Y-10 Men’s Saber with Miles Chambers taking bronze and Alex Waxler taking sixth. Ethan Kim took silver in Y-12 Men’s Saber. Amanda Li took bronze in Junior Women’s Saber. In Cadet Men’s Saber, Shaun Kim earned a silver — his first in cadet — while Gabriel McCarthy earned bronze and a D21 rating. And a first-time competitor, Veronika Gonzalez, won an eighth-place medal in Y-10 Women’s Saber.

In Cadet Men’s Foil, Nickolas Rusadze won bronze. Iris Wang took bronze in Y-12 Women’s Foil. Jonah Lee earned bronze in Y-14 Men’s Foil. And Grace Feng earned silver in Y-10.
