The FIE Grand Prix Season Started in Orleans with TMFC Representing

Orleans, France (Nov 11-13, 2021) — The first FIE Grand Prix of the 2021 - 22 season started in France last weekend.

Olympic saber fencer Eli Dershwitz, representing Tim Morehouse Fencing Club, waged a battle on the strip, ending 17th for a top-32 finish out of a field of 170 fencers. Also making the top-32 was James Linder.

Within the field of 12 US men competing, Olympian Daryl Homer led the group, finishing ninth. Fellow Olympian Andrew Mackiewicz made the top-64, finishing 50th.

On the women’s side, there were 11 women representing the US. Olympian Anne-Elizabeth “Eliza” Stone led the group with an 18th place finish.

The next Grand Prix is scheduled for Seoul, South Korea in April 2022 followed by the final in Moscow, Russia in May 2022.
