COVID TESTING:

We will be Rapid Covid Testing “At The Door” using the BinaxNow nasal swab test. Please arrive 20-30 minutes earlier than you normally would to save time to test. Our plan is to test everyone, but we are running low on tests so it is possible we will only test MOST of the participants.

COVID TESTING PROCESS
1. ARRIVAL:
When you arrive at the club, you will come into the premises and one of our staff will give you a test packet. You will swab yourself and/or you can swab your child in front of our staff. (Our staff will not be conducting the swab)

2. TESTING: You will place your sample inside the testing kit and then sit separately until you are given an “All Clear” by our staff.  This usually takes 15 minutes. If you have a positive result, we will let you know and you will need to leave the premises immediately and we recommend going to get a PCR test to verify.

3. FEES: We are asking those people who are testing to make a $15 donation to cover the costs of the test. (We do not make money on testing). If you cannot afford the strongly suggested donation, we will cover the costs of testing you and you should still attend the tournament. If you have your own “at home” test then you can bring that to the club to test there and there is no charge. (Please pay in cash or check if you are non-TMFC member)

COVID TESTING RULES:
(All Standard Covid Test Regulations Are In Place)

  1. No Spectators: There are absolutely no spectators allowed right now. Please do not ask.

  2. FACE COVERINGS: All fencers and referees in the club must wear a mask at all times including when fencing. When you are drinking water or eating food we ask that you do so separate from other people.

  3. If you are not feeling well: If you have any cold or other symptoms of illness of any kind, please do not come to the club for the tournament.

  4. Please Leave Once You Are Eliminated: Once you are eliminated, we ask that you please leave the premises unless you are participating in another event or asked to referee. (We will not do a medal ceremony for the top-4 only)

  5. Please Work With Us: We understand there is a lot of additional stress that comes along with competing under the current circumstances. Our office staff has been, and is continuing to, go above and beyond to help us run the safest possible facility. We would not be able to operate one of the safest programs in the country without them. Things will not be perfect. If there is an issue, we will come up with the best possible solution but if it isn’t perfect, please be understanding. Thank you!

TOURNAMENT LOGISTICS
(Non-Covid Ones)

  1. Parking: The parking lot on the roof of the club will be reserved for referees, staff and coaches only.

    1. Park on side streets or Good Year (Not on the Roof) All tournament participants who are not dropping off can park on the back street behind the club or at the “GOOD YEAR” parking lot about a block away from the club

    2. There is absolutely no parking in front of the club. This is for drop off and pick up only.

  2. Please Be Patient: We ask for your patience as we complete Covid testing. We are a small business whose main business is teaching fencing and not Covid testing so if there are some delays in starting the tournament while we finish waiting for results, we appreciate your patience.

  3. FENCING TIME: We will post pools and direct elimination bouts and on Fencing Time. We will post the tournament links in the morning.

  4. THERE WILL BE SOME SELF-REFEREEING: We do have a number of referees coming solely to referee but some of the pools or early Direct Elimination bouts will be self-refereed or have referees who are also fencing in the tournament.

Live Stream: We MAY try to Live Stream some strips but right now with the logistics of Covid Testing and the number of participating we are not guaranteeing this will happen. We will make
