Fort Worth, TX (April 16-19, 2021) — Tim Morehouse Fencing Club’s Jonah Shainberg earned a bronze medal in the Men’s Saber Division I event at the April NAC, inching him closer to qualifying for the US Olympic team.
He tied for third with Grant Williams. TMFC Coach Khalil Thompson earned a 7th place medal at the competition.
The Olympic Men’s Saber team currently consists of Eli Dershwitz, Darryl Homer, who received gold at the NAC, and Andrew Mackiewicz. The fourth spot on the team is up for grabs, with Thompson, Williams and Shainberg in close competition for the remaining two spots.
The deciding competition for these contenders is the May NAC, to be held in Richmond VA, May 6 through 9.
