Jersey City, NJ (August 13 - 15, 2021) — Tim Morehouse Fencing Club kicked off the 2021 - 2022 season with strong performances at the Thrust Summer RYC/RJCC in Jersey City.
In two events, it was club fencer versus club fencer in the gold medal bouts. In Y-14 men’s saber, Nazir Primus and Inkosi Brou faced off with Primus coming out on top 15-10. In Y-12 men’s saber, the same thing happened, with Aram Clark facing Ethan Kim. Clark took the win, 15-11.
Foilist Iris Yang had a stellar weekend, winning gold in Y-12 women’s foil, bronze in Y-14 women’s foil and making the top 16 in cadet women’s foil. Nickolas Rusadze did as well. He earned two bronze medals — in Cadet men’s foil and in Y-14 men’s foil.
Grace Feng won her first gold medal, winning in Y-10 women’s foil. Brendan Lee also earned gold in Y-12 men’s foil.
In all, Tim Morehouse Fencing Club fencers brought home 19 medals, an incredible performance for a season kick-off (or any time, really).
