Atlanta, GA (August 27-28) — Foilist Madelon Rosenfeld (l.) won bronze in the Vet-70 event at the Veteran National Championships held at the World Congress Center in Atlanta. And as a result, she qualifies for the US Veteran National Team.
Haivyl Lopez (r.), who trains with Coach Dan Bass remotely from Florida, earned a seventh place medal in the Vet-40 event.
At the Open Foil event, Rosenfeld came in 22nd and Lopez came in 25th.
Unfortunately for Rosenfeld, at press time, the World Veteran Championships, set for Florida in October, have been postponed until possibly January, or later.
These events wrapped up the season for Veteran fencers. The next NAC for vets is scheduled for San Jose, CA in January.
