TMFC Fencers Dershwitz, Elsissy and Singleton-Comfort Hit The World Stage

Tbilisi, Georgia (Jan 14-17, 2022) — Tim Morehouse Fencing Club hit the world circuit.

In the first weekend of designated international competitions, TMFC fencers Eli Dershwitz, Ziad Elsissy and Leanne Singleton-Comfort took the competition up a level.

Singleton-Confort was up first. She faced steep competition and earned a 115th finish out of 154 very impressive fencers.

Representing Egypt, Elsissy had a great tournament, coming in 13th. Dershwitz just missed the top 16, coming in 17th. He was second among the American men fencing. (Olympic teammate Andrew Mackiewicz earned seventh place).

In the men’s World Cup Teams competition, Elsissy led Egypt to a sixth-place finish. Dershwitz’s USA squad followed shortly in ninth place.

Cadet saber fencers Shaun Kim and Gabriel McCarthy also competed at Cadet International in Meylan, France.
