Minneapolis, MN (October 7-10, 2022) — It was the best kind of learning experience.

Fencers from Tim Morehouse Fencing Club came to test their mettle at the first North American Cup (NAC) of the year and came away with experience, national points and medals.

The club came away with four medals:

Eli Dershwitz, gold, Division I Men’s Saber;
Nickolas Rusadze, bronze, Cadet Men’s Foil;
Ziad Elsissy, fifth, Division I Men’s Saber; and
Alina Zhang, seventh, Cadet Women’s Foil, earned A22 rating.

In addition, fencers Ella Calise (2x), Madison Four-Garcia and Christina Ferrari made top-16 finishes. Top-32 finishers include Iris Yang (2x), Shaun Kim, Robert Wang, Brynnley McKee and Brendan Lee.

The October NAC included Division I, Cadet, Y-14 and Parafencing events. The next NAC will be in Salt Lake City in December, where events contested will include Division I, Junior and Cadet fencing.
