Port Chester, NY (December 3, 2022) — The proof is in the results.
Intraclub and local competitions are valuable in that they train fencers to be competitors. Believe it or not, you can be a skilled fencer and not be a skilled competitor.
That is not the problem with these young veterans of the Morehouse Youth Cup series.
Chloe Chen, currently in her final year of Y-8 eligibility, won two gold medals in Y-8 Mixed Saber and in Y-10 Women’s Saber. She has come a long way from her first days as a fencer as a five-year-old.
The same goes for Anika von Marie Kabiling. With a silver medal and a fifth-place finish, she’s developing into a confident fencer who is not afraid of competition.
While the majority of fencers were representing the Tim Morehouse Fencing Center, Olympian Fencing Studio, Bergen Fencing Club and Manhattan Fencing Center were represented.
Congratulations fencers, coaches and parents.
