New York, NY — International tournaments are heating up.
Tim Morehouse Fencing Club fencers saw action in both Brazil and Budapest, Hungary this past weekend.
At the Brazilian National Youth Event, Marcus Pinto really stretched his legs. In both the Under-15 and Under-13 events, saber fencer Pinto earned bronze. That’s showing incredible discipline for this 11-year-old.
At the Men’s Saber World Cup in Budapest, Hungary, TMFC Fencers Eli Dershwitz and Ziad Elsissy both made the top-16 out of 205 fencers. Dershwitz came in 10th after being eliminated by USA teammate Daryl Homer and Elsissy made it to 15th place.
In the Teams competition Sunday, Dershwitz’s Team USA came in sixth, while Elsissy’s Team Egypt came in ninth out of 23 teams competing.
