New York, NY (April 10, 2022) — Competing for a good cause was a win-win for Seunghee “Sue” Schulze.
The Tim Morehouse Fencing Club veteran turned out to help raise funds for Ukraine and won a sixth place medal in return.
At the Fencers Club Fundraiser for Ukraine Sunday, Schulze faced 13 competitors in a mixed veteran saber
competition that was full of experienced fencers.
She won four of her five pool bouts to make fourth place after bouts. In direct eliminations, she faced former TMFC fencer Ron Miller in her first DE, winning 10 to 7 to make the top eight. Sadly, she lost her second DE to Vlad Samotessov from Infinity Fencing Alliance, 10 to 3.
Congratulations to Schulze and all of the fencers who turned out.
