Fredericksburg, VA (Sept 10-11, 2022) — It was a gold rush.
Foil fencers from Tim Morehouse Fencing Club earned an unprecedented four gold medals at the Fairfax Challenge Fall RYC/RJCC.
Nickolas Rusadze started it off taking gold in Cadet Men’s Foil. He also competed in Junior Men’s Foil, earning a bronze medal.
Iris Yang was up next, taking gold in Junior Women’s Foil and earning her B22 rating. Her efforts in Cadet Women’s Foil were rewarded with a silver medal, where she lost the gold by just one point.
In Y-14 Men’s Foil, Brendan Lee earned gold in a surprise win. He was eighth out of pools, but persevered to win tight direct elimination bouts to take the gold by one point ultimately.
Even the youngest of the TMFC fencers made it count. Michael Grigoriev took the gold in Y-10 Men’s Foil.
Each of these fencers trains with Coach Slava Grigoriev at Tim Morehouse Fencing Club in Port Chester.
