New York, NY (May 21, 2023) — After six Morehouse Youth Cups, there were some impressive wins.
There was a full complement of Y-8 and Y-10 fencers at the final Morehouse Youth Cup, held at the Tim Morehouse Fencing Club in Manhattan Sunday.
Some fencers competed in many of them throughout the season, like Chloe Chen. Then there were complete newbies, like Akari Tomonari, hitting a competition for the very fist time.
Intraclub and local competitions are valuable because they train fencers to be competitors. Believe it or not, you can be a skilled fencer and not be a skilled competitor.
That is not the problem with these young veterans of the Morehouse Youth Cup series.
Congratulations fencers, coaches and families.
