TMFC Featured Fencer: Connor Chung

Port Chester, NY — Known as one of the hardest workers in any class he takes at Tim Morehouse Fencing Club, Connor Chung is on the verge of great things. If his packed schedule at Summer Nationals is any indication, he likes a challenge or rather, many challenges. Read more about this fencer…

Name: Connor Chung

Weapon: Saber

Age, school, grade: 14 years old, rising 9th grader at Croton Harmon High School

Hometown: Croton-on-Hudson, NY

How long have you fenced: Four years in September

Coach: Carlos Fernandez Ugalde

What you love about fencing: The energetic feeling of winning a new touch or leaning a new action. It is also the community and the friends you make through the sport.

Favorite tournament/bout and why: Morris Cup, Cadet Men’s Saber, March 2023 vs. Dalal. I was down for the majority of the bout but made a comeback to 15-14. At the break, my confidence was low. As it went on, I regained it from resetting my mind and making the right actions.

Interests outside of fencing: Golf, video games and traveling

Events at Summer Nationals: Y-14 Men’s Saber, Cadet Men’s Saber, Junior Men’s Saber, Division III Men’s Saber, Division II Men’s Saber and Division IA Men’s Saber.
