Washington, DC (March 15-18, 2024) — It was a silver moment.

Iris Yang kicked off her March SJCC at the Washington Convention Center with a silver medal in Cadet Women’s Foil. The other TMFC women’s foilists all finished the day in the top-64, for s great showing.

In Junior Women’s Saber, both Keira Lauri and Varvara Mankova made the top 16, with Mankova earning her B24 rating.

Jonah Lee made the top-32 in Junior Men’s Foil, with Brendan Lee and Jackson Wong following close behind in the top-64.

In Cadet Men’s Foll, the Lee brothers made the top-32, with Leon Shapiro, Ethen Chen and Wong making the top-64.

Keira Lauri made the top-16 in Cadet Women’s Saber with Charlotte Choi following closely in the top-32.

Ethan Kim just missed the medal stand, coming in ninth. Connor Chung made the top-16 and Gabriel Clark, the top-64.

In Junior Men’s Saber, Gabriel McCarthy made the top-64.

And in the final event, Junior Women’s Foil, all of the TMFC fencers competing made the top-64, with Alina Zhang making top-16, Eleanor Li making the top-32.

This event took place concurrently with the 2024 Absolute Fencing Gear FIE Foil Grand Prix, which drew some of the best foil fencers in the world.
