At Tim Morehouse Fencing Club, our mission is to be the "Champion" of fencing clubs, embodying excellence and leadership in the sport.
We strive not only to cultivate top-tier athletes but also to contribute to the overall growth and development of fencing both nationally and internationally. By setting high standards, fostering a supportive and competitive environment, and promoting the sport's values, we aim to inspire and elevate the entire fencing community, driving its evolution and expanding its reach.
OUR STUDENT DEVELOPMENT GOALS
College Recruitment Leader: We aim to be the leading club for college recruitment, with the highest number of students on NCAA varsity teams.
Best Youth Development Club: We strive to always be the best youth development club in the country, nurturing the highest number of new students each season and taking youth students from their first day of fencing to excelling in youth tournaments, achieving top results in Y10, Y12, and Y14, as evidenced by SYC and national medals, while preparing them for Cadet, Junior, and long-term competitive success.
Lead in Elite Athlete Development: We aim to have the leading center for developing and supporting future and current Olympians, with the largest number of cadet, junior, and senior national team members and champions, as well as Olympic team members.
OUR SPORT DEVELOPMENT GOALS
Scale and Grow The Sports Coaching Talent : Our goal is to scale excellence by increasing the number of active fencers across the country. We aim to achieve this by expanding the number of active fencers at TMFC into the thousands, establishing centers of excellence, creating new fencing clubs and facilities, and recruiting and developing the next generation of coaches, administrators, club owners, and leaders through our Fencing Corps initiative.
Leading Provider and Supporter of School Programs: Our ambition is to be the foremost provider of resources for developing and expanding fencing programs, from introductory levels in elementary schools to varsity teams in high schools. This initiative is part of our broader vision to make fencing a more enduring and widely participated sport both nationally and globally.
Innovate and Lead the Sport's Future: We aim to lead the sport of fencing into the future as a leading innovator in technology, equipment, coaching techniques, and resources. Our goal is to create an enduring impact through innovations that transcend traditional boundaries and make fencing more accessible to a wider audience.
ABOUT
Tim Morehouse Fencing Club currently operates four state-of-the-art facilities: two in Manhattan on the east and west sides, one in Port Chester, NY, and another in Stamford, CT. Our team consists of approximately 50 dedicated staff members, including around 25 highly skilled coaches. This team supports approximately 500 fencers across the TMFC network, catering to a wide range of ages from 6 to adults, and encompassing recreational, developmental, and competitive members. In addition to our coaching staff, we have a robust support team that includes member services, managers, human resources, marketing, sales, equipment and gear specialists, and a technology research and development department. This comprehensive team works together to ensure that our club runs smoothly and continues to provide exceptional training and service to our members.
