Tim Morehouse Fencing Club has begun the transition to wireless fencing using the Enpointe Wireless System. Currently the 2nd floor at our the Manhattan Club on 210 West 91st and 3 strips at our Port Chester location are now using the system.

We are really excited to be early adopters of the system and to continue to try to provide our members with the newest technologies and training methods. Over the course of the next 6 months, we will transition the rest of the 91st Street club and begin adding more wireless systems to the Port Chester Club and to our Satellite locations.

A couple of notes about the system:

  1. Body Cords: The system still uses body cords, but the fencer will plug their body cord into a pack that transmits to the machine. The system itself plugs directly into the current fencing machines so there is no more need for reels. In order for the system to work, a fencers body cord must be in perfect working order.

  2. The Wireless Fencer Boxes: the boxes go into a fencers back pocket with the image facing outward so the transmitter functions without interference. The boxes are $250 each so fencers will be signing out boxes for practice this season. If a fencer losses a box they’ve signed out then they will be responsible for paying for it.

  3. Transition Period: This season, the boxes will be signed out and no additional purchases will be necessary, but starting Sept. 2020, competitive fencers will need to either purchase their own wireless box for $250 or they can be rented for $7/day. Each fencer will be responsible for their own box. This is the method other clubs are using to utilize the system fully and to replace the need for reels.
