Richmond, VA (May 6, 2021) — Tim Morehouse Fencing Club kicked off the May North American Cup with a trio of medals.
Topping off the day, Alina Zhang won silver in Y-14 women’s foil. Teammates Sophia Wong (21) and Emily Gu (36) fought to the top half of this competitive field.
Aria Bevacqua earned a fifth-place medal in Y-14 women’s saber. Teammate Amaya Javeri hit the top 32, placing 27th.
Nickolas Rusadze fought hard for a seventh-place win in men’s foil, emerging on the top of a crowded 107-person field.
In all, six Y-14 events took place on day one.
Action at the May NAC runs from Thursday, May 6 through Sunday, May 9, 2021 at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. Events contested include Division I, Junior, Cadet and Y14 in all three disciplines: épeé, foil and saber.
