Coaches Sara Vincenzin and Achiko Lortkipanidze flanking Nicka Lortkipanidze and his medal.
Philadelphia, PA (July 6, 2021) — It was a gold medal day for Tim Morehouse Fencing Club.
Nickoloz Lortkipanidze, known as Nicka, pulled off a gold medal win in a definitive victory at 15-11 in the Junior Olympics Men’s Saber today in Philadelphia.
This is a second gold for Nicka in the Junior Olympics — he won gold two years ago in the Junior Olympics, Cadet Men’s Saber in 2019 and was on the Cadet National Team.
Later in the day, in a moment of levity, the junior women’s saber team chose a slightly off-beat name: “Tmothy Frank Morehouse Fenciing Establishment.” One can only assume that Aria Bevacqua, Madison Duckett and Scotland Jenkins were poking fun with their misspellings.
Congratulations fencers.
