Summer Nationals Day 6: Y14 Women and Senior, Veteran Teams

Philadelphia, PA (July 8, 2021) - Iris Yang ended her season with a strong finish.

The young foilist worked through the pack of fencers, including a deep group of TMFC competitors, to emerge in 7th place, earning her C21 rating as a result.

There was action in teams competitions with TMFC fencers representing. The Junior Men’s Foil Team “TMFC,” featuring Matthew Breier, Richard Lin, Nickolas Rusadze and Henry C. Zhang, worked hard to earn seventh place. In Veteran Women’s Foil Team, “D Sunshine,” which included remote fencer Haivyl Lopez earned a third-place medal.

Next up at Summer Nationals will be Y-12 men’s and women’s in all weapons — saber, épée and foil.

Summer National Championships and the July North American Cup runs from Saturday, July 3rd through Monday, July 12 at the Philadelphia Convention Center in the Market East section of Philadelphia, PA.

Tim Morehouse Fencing Club qualified and sent more than 60 fencers to compete in all three weapons from Y-12 to Veteran events.
