Boston, MA (October 29-30, 2022) — It was a Division II kind of tournament.
Tim Morehouse Fencers Brendan Lee and Connor Chung prevailed in Division II competition to earn medals. Lee, competing in Men’s Foil, took a fifth-place finish, while Chung, in Men’s Saber, earned an eighth-place medal.
Lee came out of pools in sixth place. His direct elimination bouts were hard fought at 15-9 and 15-13 before he fell to the third seed, 9-15.
In 28th place after pools, Chung stood his ground to grind out wins. He handily won his first direct elimination bout 15-7. The following two were nail-biters at 15-14 and 15-14. He finally fell 4-15 to the ultimate bronze medalist. He benefitted greatly from the strip coaching provided by TMFC alum Seth Edelman, now fencing for Brandeis University.
Congratulations fencers, coaches and families.
