TMFC All Over -- For the Love of Fencing

Silver medalist Peter Kunz (r.)

New York, NY (March 13, 2022) — All for the love of fencing…

It must be the love of fencing that drives the adult members of the Tim Morehouse Fencing Club to seek out competitions every weekend.

Peter Kunz and Kaleigh Fiasconaro — TMFC staff from Port Chester — participated in an open saber tournament at Way of the Sword Sunday. The event served as a fundraiser for the Litchfield High School and, Kunz said, “it was a very laid-back, casual tournament which I honestly prefer.”

Still, Kunz took a silver medal behind Way Y-12 fencer Ryan Katz and sadly, managed to eliminate Fiasconaro in a direct elimination bout along the way. “Everyone had a great time,” Kunz added.

Meanwhile in Columbus, OH, Veteran Women’s saber fencer Lisa Marsh competed at the Arnold Fencing Classic ROC for the first time. The competition was tough — four of the six competitors won medals at the NAC last weekend — but Marsh relied on skills and tactics learned in lessons and class at TMFC to stay afloat and bring home a coveted Arnold medal.

Congratulations fencers!
