Minneapolis, MN (July 11, 2022) — It was a banner day for the youngest foil fencers at Tim Morehouse Fencing Club.
Y-10 Women’s foilist Grace Feng reached the medal stand in fifth place. Her teammates fought hard to come out in the top-16 (Amabel Wang at 15), top-32 (Yunong Lin at 20) and top half of the 99 competitors (Savannah Li at 40T).
Brendan Lee reached the medal stand in Y-12 Men’s Foil in eighth place, leading the pack of Tim Morehouse foil fencers.
In saber fencing, Pompie Yannopoulos made the top-64 (56) in a field of Y-12 Women’s Saber competitors many of whom were making their Summer Nationals debut. The same goes for Y-10 Men’s Saber — it was filled with fencers competing on a national level for the first time. Miles Chambers (15) and Timothy Chang (16) made the top-16. Morgan So (21) and Zihou Dai (27) made the top-32.
Congratulations fencers, coaches and parents.
