Minneapolis, MN (July 6, 2022) — Let’s hear it for the women of the Tim Morehouse Fencing Club as day five brought two medals for the women of saber and foil.
Vet-70 foil fencer Madelon Rosenfeld earned a sixth-place medal in her event, clinching her place on the Veteran World Team for Vet-70 Women’s Foil.
Cadet Women’s Saber fencer Madison Duckett fought hard to earn a seventh-place finish. Teammate Coco Guven made her first trip to Summer Nationals count by making the top half of the 170-women field tied at 115.
In Cadet Women’s Foil, Alina Zhang made the top-16 (11T), and teammate Iris Yang barely missed making the top-32, taking 35th place.

The 2022 USA Fencing National Championships and July Challenge are taking place at the Minneapolis Convention Center in Minnesota from July 2–11, 2022. More than 4,500 competitors from 45 states and 12 foreign countries are competing in more than 100 events over 10 days. Fencers range from age seven to 84, competing in events that start as Y-10 and run to Veteran-80 with all imaginable categories of age, gender, and weapon in between.
