New York, NY — The first week is in the books.
Time Morehouse Fencing Club Summer Camps started last week to great success.
More than 50 kids attended camps at the Manhattan, Port Chester and Stamford locations, learning about fencing, playing games, making friends and having fun. For kids interested in learning and competing in fencing, these are excellent first steps.
“One of the best ways to start fencing is by attending summer fencing camp,” said Tim Morehouse, Olympian and founder of Tim Morehouse Fencing Club. “In one week, you learn the basics, strategy, and even experience a tournament. It’s a complete immersion. Plus you make new friends and establish or deepen your relationships with the coaches.” He added: “In one week of camp, you learn as much as a month during the school year. “
While fencing is the theme, there are a variety of activities done each day that make it fun for kids.
“There is a variety of activities — each day is different,” Morehouse explained. “The kids have fun playing games and fencing games. Plus, you’re bonding with your teammates — eating lunch with them and building your community.”
For kids who are interested in learning and eventually competing, fencing camp is a head start. “With a few weeks of camp under their belts, kids can jump into classes in the fall with a level of confidence,” Morehouse said.
Tim Morehouse Fencing Camps run now through the end of August and there are still spots available. For more information and to register click HERE. New members can save 50% on their first week of camp. We’ll see you there!
