TMFC Fencers Earned Medals and Ratings at The Capitol Clash

National Harbor, MD (Jan 14 -16, 2023) — The beloved Capitol Clash SYC/RCC returned to great results.

Tim Morehouse Fencing Club fencers left their mark on the medal stands, earning 10 medals. And because this was one of the first big SYCs of the 2023 calendar year, many of the fencers with ratings were able to renew to 23 ratings.

As for medals, Miles Chambers was a double winner, taking gold in Y-10 Men’s Saber and silver in Y-12 Men’s Saber.

Ella Calise also took gold in Y-14 Women’s Foil, earning her B23 rating.

Bronze medals were won by Sofia Schaible in Y-14 Women’s Saber (she also got a D23 rating), Grace Feng in Y-12 Women’s Foil and Michael Grigoriev in Y-10 Men’s Foil.

Amabel Wang took fifth place in Y-10 Women’s Foil. Seth Waxler, not content to allow his father to win medals unanswered, won fifth place in Cadet Men’s Saber.

Sienna Young won seventh place in Y-10 Women’s Saber. And Keira Lauri took eighth place in Cadet Women’s Saber, earning her D23 rating in the process.
