Tim Morehouse Fencers Took Top Medals at the Duel of the East Coast

Y-12 Men’s Saber

Oaks, PA (Sept 9-10, 2023) — Tim Morehouse fencers earned a wide array of medals at the Duel of the East Coast.

From Y-10 to the Veteran fencers, the showing was more than respectable for an early-in-the-season showing.

Gabriel McCarthy took gold in Cadet Men’s Saber. He was joined in the top spot by Leo Shapiro, who took gold in Y-10 Men’s Saber.

Miles Chambers took silver in Y-14 Men’s Saber with strip coaching from Connor Chung. Chung generously hung around to help after sharing the bronze medal position with Gabriel McCarthy in Junior Men’s Saber.

In Y-10 Women’s Saber, Chloe Chen was solid with a silver medal. Grace Chang took the bronze.

Chambers led the TMFC group in medals in Y-12 Men’s Saber with a silver, followed by Zihou Dai and Aidan Song in bronze and Timothy Chang in seventh place.

The TMFC veteran fencers made a great showing as well. Augusto Pinto felt out the open men’s veteran field, taking seventh place. Lisa Marsh took bronze in a tough group of women vets, after taking silver the previous day in open women’s saber at the NJ Senior Olympics.
