Tim Morehouse Fencing Club’s Saber Fencers Shine at Neil Lazar RYC/RJCC

This weekend, Tim Morehouse Fencing Club’s saber fencers showcased their talent and hard work at the Neil Lazar RYC/RJCC tournament. The event was a great success, with several of our athletes earning top positions and demonstrating the dedication they've put into their training. We’re so excited to have started the 2024-2025 season with more than a dozen medals across all events! Below are the medalists from each saber event:

Y12 Women’s Saber: Charlotte Choi (5th)

Y14 Men’s Saber: Marcus Pinto (Gold), Aram Clark (Bronze), Miles Chambers (7th)

Junior Men’s Saber: Matthew Fields (Bronze) Connor Chung (7th)

Y12 Men’s Saber: Miles Chambers (Gold), William Lucas (Silver) Aidan Song (Bronze)

Junior Women’s Saber: Brynnley McKee (5th)

Y10 Women’s Saber: Nia Maluki (Gold), Chloe Chen (Silver), Anika Von Marie Kabiling (5th)

We’d like to give a shoutout to not only our medalists but ALL of the fencers who represented Tim Morehouse Fencing Club on the regional stage this past weekend. As we celebrate the outstanding achievements of our saber fencers at this early-season competition, we are filled with excitement for what's to come. With Premier ROC coming up this weekend, we know our athletes are more motivated than ever to build on their success and continue making us proud. Here's to even more incredible performances and bringing home more medals as the season unfolds. Go TMFC!

Exercises from an Italian Fencing Master You Can do at Home

Italian Fencing Master Sara Vicezin has created a series of four videos demonstrating fencing exercises that you can do at home!

Coach Vicenzin has been an international leader in the sport of fencing for over two decades. As an athlete, Sara was first division ranked on the Italian Women’s Saber National Ranking in both 1999 and 2000, winning two Bronze Medals at the Women’s Saber Italian Championship and earning a spot on the Italian National Team. She has also been a coach and trainer to some of the world’s most elite fencers.

Sara officially begins coaching at Tim Morehouse Fencing Club in August, 2020.

TMFC Fencers Bring Their A-Game at the 2019 October North American Cup

Kansas City, MO (October, 2019) - TMFC Fencers headed to the Kansas City Convention Center to compete in this four-day North American Cup. The stakes were high, as this is a tournament attended by elite athletes including those competing for a spot on the U.S. Olympic team. Our fencers brought their A-game, achieving awesome results on the fencing strip. They were accompanied by our dedicated coaches - Coach Tim, Coach Achiko, Coach Ziad, and Coach Carlos.

Madison Duckett won a Silver medal in Division 2 Women's Saber and went from an E19 to a B19 rating. She is having an amazing season - she brought home three medals at the Ben Gutenberg Memorial SYC just one weekend ago.

Additionally, Ziad Elsissy won a Gold Medal in Division 1 Men's Saber. This is the 2nd Division 1 Gold Medal in Tim Morehouse Fencing Club history!!

TMFC Students Awarded USA Fencing Regional Patches for the 2018-19 Season

Colorado Springs, CO (June, 2019) - USA Fencing announces the patch winners for the Regional Youth Circuit, Regional Junior and Cadet Circuit, and Regional Open Circuit. RYC patches are awarded to the top Y10, Y12 and Y14 fencers of each respective region for the 2018-19 season. RJCC Recognition Program recognizes the gold, silver and bronze medalists in the cadet and junior age categories. The ROC Recognition Program awards patches to Division IA, Division II and veteran fencers for their accomplishments at ROCs throughout the country.

Seven fencers from Tim Morehouse Fencing Club are receiving Patches this year! In the RYC category, patches were awarded to Myles Duckett, Catelyn So, Audrey Young, and Alina Zhang. In RJCC, patches were awarded to David Pavlenishvili, Nathan Andrews, and Peter Hammer. Peter Hammer won two patches this year: a Silver Patch in Cadet Men’s Saber, and a Gold Patch in Junior Men’s Saber.

TMFC Fencer Jasmina Denner Brings Home Two Silver Medals at the Can/Am Veteran's Cup 2019

Markham, ON (May, 2019) - TMFC Fencer Jasmina Denner competed in the Can/Am Veteran's Cup 2019, the premier Veteran’s Fencing event in North America. The tournament took place at the Vango Toronto Fencing Centre and featured 30 events over two days.

Jasmina achieved a Silver Medal finish in both of the events that she competed in: Vet-50 Women’s Saber, and Vet-Combined Women’s Saber.

Jersey City, NJ (May, 2019) - Six fencers from Tim Morehouse Fencing Club participated in this all-ages tournament at the Lakawanna Warehouse. The tournament took place over a single day and featured 12 Saber events.

Our fencers achieved one Gold Medal and two Top-8 Medals. Emilio Gonzalez brought home a Gold Medal in Y-10 Men’s Saber. Top-8 Medals were awarded to Audrey Young in Y-12 Women’s Saber, and Ron Miller in Vet Men’s Saber.
