Tim Morehouse Fencers Take Medals at Tri-State Veteran's Saber Cup

New York, NY (Dec 12, 2021) — Veteran fencing is back!

Two Tim Morehouse Fencing Club fencers earned medals this weekend in a robust Tri-State Veteran’s Saber Cup. Seunghee “Sue” Schulze earned a sixth-place medal and Lisa Marsh earned eighth place out of a field of 12 fencers.

The event, held at the Manhattan Fencing Club, was one of the largest gatherings of veteran women saber fencers seen in this region in years.

This was the second in the 7th Annual Tri-State Veterans Saber Cup. The series includes some of the largest Vet Saber events in the country outside of the NACs. Competitors regularly attend from up and down the East Coast. The Cup was interrupted during the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 seasons by COVID-19, but in 2018-2019, it produced two A2-rated Vet MS events, 6 A/B ratings and 4 C/D/E ratings.

The first event of this series was the LFA Halloween Rehearsal, held at Lilov Fencing Academy in Cedar Grove, NJ in October. Marsh competed there, earning a bronze medal.

The next in this series is 2022 Veteran Saber Slam! at Sheridan Fencing Academy in New York in late January.

Congratulations fencers!
