New York, NY (Dec 11, 2021) — These young fencers finished the fall season with gusto.
Many fencers competing in the Morehouse Youth Saber Cup #4 showed demonstrable improvement over the course of each successive competition, meeting goals and new accomplishments. These young fencers hit the strip Saturday, Dec. 11 at the Tim Morehouse Fencing Club West End location (West End Collegiate Church at 77th Street and West End Avenue, New York).
Almost every fencer who competed in multiple weeks saw improvement in their finish. Plus, many got the opportunity to “fence up” — competing in an age category above their own — taking away the fear of facing more experienced fencers.
Learning how to compete and becoming accustomed to the stress of attending competitions is a huge part of fencing. The Morehouse Youth Saber Cup was designed to introduce new fencers to competing in a familiar environment.
It was a great experience to prepare beginners for future regional and national events.
Congratulations fencers!
