Out of the Comfort Zone: TMFC Fencers Collect on the Road

Orlando, FL and Boston, MA (May 28-31, 2021) — Tim Morehouse Fencing Club fencers successfully hit the road to test their skills.

Inkosi Brou emerged triumphantly after traveling to the Orlando Challenge SYC and RCC at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, FL . He earned a fifth-place medal in Cadet men’s saber and a 7th place finish in Y-14 men’s saber, earning national points. This is inkosi’s second top-eight finish in Y-14 in two weeks.

Gabriel McCarthy headed in the other direction, traveling to Boston for the Boston Fencing Club RJCC where he earned an eighth-place medal in Cadet men’s saber. McCarthy was joined by TMFC fencers Matthew Breier (foil), Grace Hicks (épée), Alexandra McKee (foil), Scotland Jenkins (saber) and Massimo Tozzi (saber) all of whom put up respectable performances.

Fencers will often travel outside their immediate region to take on new and different opponents, giving them information and experience against fencers they could see at North American Cups and national competitions.

Congratulations young men.
