New York, NY (March 1 2022) — The East Coast let the West Coast know who was boss.
For Connor Chung, the color of the day was bronze, as he earned third place in the Y-12 Men’s Saber event at the Cascade Clash SYC held at the Northwest Fencing Center in Portland, OR. He had definitive victories in his three direct eliminations, falling only in the penultimate round.
He didn’t fare as well in the Y-14 Men’s Saber, but made a valiant effort, coming in 23rd out of 41 fencers.
Foilist Grace Feng also made the trip to Portland, earning 34th place in a particularly fierce Y-14 Women’s Foil event.
This busy weekend for fencers from the Tim Morehouse Fencing Club also had East Coast representation.
Kylee Demry and Nathaniel Arenson made their debut efforts in Y-10 Mixed Saber at the MFC Liberty Cup, held Sunday in New York, coming in 14th and 15th, respectively.
Congratulations fencers!
