Valley Forge, PA (April 16-17, 2002) — With more than 50 fencers competing, the Tim Morehouse Fencing Club had a banner weekend at the Duel of the East Coast RYC and RJCC.

The medals started early on Saturday morning at the Valley Forge Event Center, with Ainsley McKee earning gold in Cadet Women’s Saber, marking her return to competition by also earning her E22 rating.

After an all-TMFC final, Miles Chambers earned gold in Y-10 Men’s Saber and was joined on the medal stand by Zihou Dai with silver, Alexander Mermegas with bronze and Timothy Chang in seventh place. Morehouse fencers made up more than half of the total fencers in this event.

It was a Morehouse boys’ free-for-all again in the Y-12 Men’s Saber event with 15 boys competing. Samuel Kietlinski took silver, Alexander Fadel took fifth place, sixth place was Connor Chung and Marcus Pinto took seventh place.

Robert Wang took gold in Junior Men’s Saber and shared the podium with Erick Shi who earned bronze and his D22 rating. In Y-14 Men’s Saber, Wang again medaled, this time in fifth place.

Veronika Gonzalez took double bronzes, competing in both Y-12 Women’s Saber and Y-10 Women’s Saber, where Sienna Young also medaled in fifth place.
