Tim Morehouse Fencing Club Sweeps the Podium in Y12 Men's Saber @ Windy City SYC

TMFC fencers stormed into Chicago this weekend and made a remarkable showing at the Windy City SYC tournament. Competing against top youth talent from across the country, our athletes showcased their skill and determination, earning several podium finishes and personal bests. Notably, our Y12 boys swept the podium in Y12 Men’s Saber. Miles Chambers took the gold medal, William Lucas took the silver, and Marcus Avery took the bronze, with Aidan Song placing 5th. In other news, vet TMFC fencer Aaron Waxler placed 7th at the MFC Liberty Cup & Tri State Veteran Saber Cup! We have had a tremendous season so far for our veteran fencers, who prove that fencing is a rewarding sport for athletes of any and all ages. TMFC’s adult fencers are always welcome to begin their competitive journey by attending local and regional events alongside our youngsters.

Tim Morehouse Fencing Club Leaders Take on Premier Challenge ROC in Suffern, NY + First TMFC Youth Cup Announcement!

September 17, 2024 — This weekend, Tim Morehouse Fencing Club showcased its talent at the Premier Challenge ROC competition in Suffern, New York. Our Cadet, Junior, and Veteran fencers in both foil and saber demonstrated the hard work and discipline that defines TMFC, serving as inspiring role models for younger athletes.

The competition highlighted not only their impressive skills but also the strong camaraderie within the club. Our fencers supported one another, embodying the spirit of sportsmanship that is integral to TMFC.

Overall, the event was a valuable opportunity for growth, showcasing the dedication and teamwork that will continue to propel our athletes forward. Congratulations to all TMFC fencers on a fantastic performance!

ALL of our younger fencers can gain valuable experience for regional tournaments by signing up for our upcoming in-house youth tournaments, featuring Y8, Y10, and Y12 events. Each of our Premier medalists started out at our TMFC Youth Cup competitions. This past weekend, the foil fencers from Tim Morehouse Fencing Club delivered an exceptional performance at the Neil Lazar RYC competition, showcasing their skill, determination, and hard work. Under the expert guidance of Coaches Slava Grigoriev, Mohamed Essam, and Eddie Grigoriev, our fencers stood out among the competition, earning medals in an impressive eight events. Their dedication and teamwork continue to elevate the TMFC standard, proving once again why we are a force to be reckoned with in foil fencing in the New York City metro region and beyond.

This weekend, Tim Morehouse Fencing Club’s saber fencers showcased their talent and hard work at the Neil Lazar RYC/RJCC tournament. Tim Morehouse Fencing Club currently operates four state-of-the-art facilities: two in Manhattan on the east and west sides, one in Port Chester, NY, and another in Stamford, CT. Our team consists of approximately 50 dedicated staff members, including around 25 highly skilled coaches. This team supports approximately 500 fencers across the TMFC network, catering to a wide range of ages from 6 to adults, and encompassing recreational, developmental, and competitive members. In addition to our coaching staff, we have a robust support team that includes member services, managers, human resources, marketing, sales, equipment and gear specialists, and a technology research and development department. This comprehensive team works together to ensure that our club runs smoothly and continues to provide exceptional training and service to our members.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the 2024 inaugural class of the Fencing Corps, a premier summer internship program designed to cultivate the next generation of fencing coaches. This summer, a select group of talented young fencers from colleges across the country will embark on an intensive journey of training and mentorship under the guidance of world-renowned experts. The Fencing Corps is honored to have three-time Olympian and Olympic silver medalist Tim Morehouse leading the program. With his unparalleled experience as founder and head coach of Tim Morehouse Fencing Club, Tim will provide invaluable insights and mentorship to our interns that reflect his utmost dedication to the sport of fencing.

Joining Tim is elite Coach Iba Keita, a distinguished figure in the fencing world. Coach Keita, who graduated as the Valedictorian with a “Master of Arms” diploma from the Fédération Internationale d'Escrime (FIE) in 2016 and acts as one of TMFC’s elite coaches, brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for teaching that will inspire and elevate our interns’ coaching skills.

Throughout the summer, interns will train and teach at the prestigious Tim Morehouse Fencing Club summer camps in New York City. This hands-on experience will allow them to refine their fencing techniques and develop their coaching abilities in a dynamic and supportive environment.

The Fencing Corps program is already attracting some of the nation's best and brightest, and we look forward to solidifying our legacy as a place for top talent in years to come.

Dear TMFC parents and students,

We want to inform you of some upcoming early closures and closures at our Manhattan West Side location. We will have an early closure on Tuesday, June 11, and full closure on Wednesday 6/12 and Thursday 6/13 due to holiday plans in the building. However, students are welcome to join us at our BRAND NEW East Side location, located at 235 E 49th St (between 2nd and 3rd Avenues) Please read the details below carefully for the alternative arrangements and ensure to register where necessary to secure your spot.

Tuesday, June 11:

  • Early Closure: Classes will end at 5:30 PM.

    • Youth Classes: Running as planned at TMFC-West Side until 5:30 PM.

    • Lessons: All lessons scheduled before 6 PM with Coaches Iba, Mostafa, Luka, Irem, and Mamoudou will continue as planned.

    • Elite Class: To be held at the regular time (6:40) in our East Side location with Coach Daryl Homer. Registration is required due to limited space so make sure to sign up! The class is now active on MindBody.  Register Here
